About PTA

Golden PTA is a fundraising and community-building non-profit created to enhance the educational experience for our children. Through the extraordinary efforts of parents, Golden PTA volunteers, raises funds, oversees enrichment programs and participates in parent-sponsored activities to give our children a wonderfully enriched environment. Golden PTA supplements the academic program of John L. Golden Elementary through activities and special events, enhances a sense of community, and fundraises to help meet uncovered school expenditures.

The strength of our school community comes from our active and hands-on volunteer parent body who support the many Golden PTA and school programs.

We welcome your involvement and participation in making our school the best it can be!

Golden PTA’s volunteer board is elected each year by the membership. The Board is comprised of a President, 1st VP Programs, 2nd VP Ways & means, 3rd VP Membership, 4th VP Student Services, 5th VP Communication, Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, Historian, and Auditor. Golden’s PTA is a unit of the California State PTA.

Accomplishments

We are proud of our past accomplishments and even more excited for our future!

  • Chromebooks: Golden PTA purchased four charging carts with 35 Chromebooks on each. Each cart goes in a fourth or fifth grade pod.
  • Laser Printers: To reduce expenditures on ink cartridges, Golden PTA purchased laser printers for each teacher’s classroom.
  • Accelerated Reader: Golden PTA not only contributes to the renewal of Accelerated Reader, we also host a fun party and provide other incentives to ensure our children find love in reading!
  • Classroom Supplies: PTA gives every teacher $5 per student to spend on classroom supplies.
  • Computer Laboratory: Golden PTA knows how important it is to have technology available for students which is why we have assisted in purchasing computers for the computer lab.
  • Copy Machine: We lent a hand when our school’s copy machine kept breaking and purchased a new one.
  • Shade Structure: We were so happy to provide a shade structure to our children while they play outside.
  • S.T.E.A.M: PTA helped with S.T.E.A.M Lab technology and S.T.E.A.M Lab materials
